I am lucky enough to live in a tiny stone house next to a 360 hectare woodland (actually, that’s why we bought the house!) – and I try to walk there every day. It makes me very aware of the turning of the seasons; it grounds and calms me, and inspires my work. I am a textile artist and author, and all of my work is rooted in the natural world.
Whenever I go for a walk, I take a collecting basket and come back with treasure that the woodland offers. We forage for food, and collect leaves, acorn cups and pine cones to use in craft pieces. You never know what you are going to find. At the moment, the woods are heavy with berries and fungi.
I have written many books over the years, and articles and features for lots of magazines and websites. Lots of my writing follows the sustainable lifestyle theme:
My faeries, felted goodies and the craft classes I run can be found at faerierealms
I have started a micro-publishing house called Forest House Press – a great selection of craft, wellbeing and educational books in the pipeline currently.
Did I mention that I love to bake? I’ll share my favourite recipes here.
That’s enough for one night – I can hear foxes calling; a certain elderly collie wants attention…
…and I’d like a cuddle with Lovely Husband before the evening is over – so all I’ll say to close is that I am looking forward to getting to ‘know’ you!
